Preparing for Competition.

We have a competition coming up so I thought I would do a blog post on what we do to prepare for competitions. A couple weeks before the competition, we basically just work on making sure that our skills are solid and that we are consistent with them. If you are not consistent with them then your routines will not be very good and you won't do very well at a competition. Then about a week to a week and a half before the competition is when you start working on your routines and putting your skills in your routines. After you do that the rest of the time leading up to the competition is spent on perfecting our routines and your skills. Normally I just do 10 routines on bars and beam, 2 routines on floor and a whole lot of vaults. It doesn't seem like too much, but it is really important if you want to do well at a competition. It is all pretty basic, but it doesn't have to be a lot.
